Work with me

About

Based in the South West of Scotland, I work freelance as an artist, researcher and educator. I specialise in engagement and participation using a rights and relationship-based approach.

Please get in touch if you would like to work with me on any of the below or to discuss more bespoke opportunities.

Co-production and participation

Over the last 14 years, I’ve worked collaboratively using making, playing and listening as a means to empower and drive social action, particularly with children and young people. Organisations I’ve collaborated with include Deveron Projects, Timespan, Grampian Hospital Art Trust and Aberdeen City Council. Currently I’m the South Ayrshire artist for Remembering Together.

I’m co-founder and producer of child/ young person-led artist collective Rumpus Room.

Research, reporting and evaluation

As Programme Manager for Children’s Parliament, I co-designed, delivered and reported on national and location-based consultations, engaging the experiences and ideas of children and young people. In my freelance work, I use action-based, creative and qualitative fieldwork methodologies to involve individuals and communities in decision-making or evaluation of their services.

Training and consulting

I’ve worked with NHS Grampian, Police Scotland, South London Gallery and schools across Aberdeen to deliver training to professionals on children’s human rights, using creative methodologies to support participation, place-making, linking arts practice with Curriculum for Excellence and on play/ outdoor learning.

Through Rumpus Room and Children’s Parliament I have an expertise on creating child-led/friendly policy and of supporting practice-based implementation.
